Hearts of Oak chief Neil Armstrong Mortagbe says the side’s inability to win any trophy this season will not be considered a failure.

The Phobians are unlikely to end the season with any piece of silverware having been knocked out of the FA Cup and with a 10-point gap to make on Asante Kotoko at the top of the Premier League.

This means the club’s bid to end a desperate wait for a coveted trophy will be further prolonged at least for one more season.

But the club’s managing director says it will be no failure if the disappointment of winning a trophy this season is further extended at the end of the current campaign.

“We will not consider the season as a failure because we have seen our progress as compared to where we were last season,” he said.

“We will obviously like to win laurels; Hearts of Oak is noted for winning laurels.

“But as a failure, no. We wouldn’t consider this season as a failure if we end the season without any silverware.”

Hearts will be hoping to make grounds on leaders Asante Kotoko when they host struggling Ebusua Dwarfs in the midweek Premier League game on Wednesday.
