Ghana winger David Accam has been linked with Norwich City and Burton Albion with the English Championship sides reported to be keen on the Chicago Fire player.

The 26-year-old's blistering form for the MLS side has attracted interest from the second tier sides in England to help their promotion bids.

Accam, who can play wide or centrally, has been targeted by the two sides for this summer transfer window which shuts at the end of August.

Even though no formal offer has been tabled it is expected that the interest will be formalized in the coming days.

Chicago Fire are likely to demand £5m before they will allow the winger to leave the the United States for the English second tier. Accam has actually already played in England, having moved to Hartpury College in 2008 alongside Abdul Majeed Waris, who now plays for Lorient in the France top flight.

The pair had progressed through the Right to Dream Academy back in Accra.

He moved on to Sweden, finding prolific form for Östersunds and then Helsingborgs, where he played in the Champions League and gained international recognition.

He was on the radar of Premier League clubs before a switch to Chicago in 2014.
