Chelsea are set to pursue Augsburg left-back Abdul Baba Rahman after Jose Mourinho confirmed Filipe Luis will leave for Atletico Madrid in the coming days.

The Portuguese tactician revealed on Tuesday that the Premier League champions are looking for a replacement for Luis, with the Brazil international set to seal a return to the club he left a year ago.

"In this moment we need a left-back because I think we are selling Filipe Luis now or tomorrow," Mourinho said.

The transfer, believed to be worth close to the £16 million fee Chelsea originally paid for Luis, will pave the way for the west Londoners to try and sign Rahman.

Mourinho, who is also tracking Everton's John Stones,  is thought to be a huge admirer of the 21-year-old, who was voted as the best left-back in the Bundesliga last season, while Roma are also keen on the Ghana international.
