Injured Eric Bekoe will undergo a reconstructive surgery at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital on Monday to remove a metal in his leg, the player has confirmed.

Bekoe had a metal pin used to provide support to his leg after a horrible injury in August last year before the start of the new season.

The 27-year-old, who has criticized his club of neglecting him during his injury, is being made to foot the bills.

“I should have done the surgery today (Monday). They would take off the metal so that I can start playing actively,’’ Bekoe told Accra-based Power FM.

“Yesterday, I tried playing about 45 minutes and I felt no pain. The surgery will be on Monday, which is today’s week.”

Bekoe was preparing to fly out to Finland for a trial when he suffered the career-threatening injury.

He scored 17 goals in 23 games in the 2007/2008 season to emerge goal king.
