Eric Bekoe's move to Kotoko completely off

Eric Bekoe’s proposed move to Asante Kotoko has completely fallen through, a source has confirmed to GHANAsoccernet.com.

The 25-year-old has been part of Kotoko’s pre-season camping haven initially agreed in principle to rejoin the champions after canceling his contract with Egyptian club Petrojet.

Negotiations to seal his return to the Kumasi-based club however took a strange turn with disputes over his contract duration and the money involved.

And by Premier League player registration deadline day on Friday, the former Ghana goal king had not been duly registered by the Porcupine Warriors – giving credence to the source’s revelation to GHANAsoccernet.com.

Bekoe can however still feature in the Premier League this term as he qualifies to be registered under special dispensation since he is a returning foreign player.

The ex Heart of Lions hitman still maintains his love for the club that provided him the platform for an eventual lucrative deal with Petrojet.

“Please Kotoko fans should be careful with statement they make on this issue because is very complicated,” he said in a statement.

“I love the team and the fans that's why I’ve kept my cool and not granting interviews.

“Because I can’t wash my dirty cloths outside. Kotoko mean a lot to me and Kotoko is my family. Thanks to u all.”
