The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has released a shortlist of three players that will be gunning for the 2015 Ghana Premier League star of the year.

The players that will be doing battle against each other consist of Ashanti Gold captain, Eric Opoku, former Liberty Professionals attacker Kennedy Ashia and Wa All Stars agile goalie Richard Ofori.

The trio were delight to watch during last season’s Ghana Premier League as Eric Opoku who is a nominee helped his side to end their 19 years league title drought and was also voted the PLB player of the season.

Ashia who has now joined Sudanese giants Al Hilal last season he was the top scorer for the Dansoman-based club as he netted 11 goals while Ofori exploits in the local top-flight earned him a call up into the Black Stars during their 2017 AFCON qualifiers.

Ofori was also the number shot stopper for the national U-23 team as well as the Local Black Stars.

His performance didn’t escape the organizers of the Premier League Board (PLB) as he was voted the best goalkeeper of the season.
