Michael Essien insists his ââ¬Ëdaddyââ¬â¢ Jose Mourinho wants him to be part of his Chelsea squad next season.
Essien, 30, is expected to return to London after completing a season-long loan at Spanish giants Real Real Madrid.
Mourinho has confirmed he will leave the Santiago Bernabeu and now looks set to make his hugely-anticipated return to Chelsea.
The Portuguese tactician has played an instrumental role in the career of the Ghanaian after he signed him in 2005 from Lyon when he first joined Chelsea.
He once again gave him a huge lifeline when he signed him on a one-year loan deal at Real Madrid after it was evident he was not needed at Chelsea at that time.
With news that Mourinho is expected to return to Chelsea, the Ghanaian ace knows his father figure will require his services again.
ââ¬ÅWe have a very good relationship. I understand him very well,â⬠Essien said
ââ¬ÅDaddy knows I can play in any position he wants me to, except goalkeeper.ââ¬
Essien made 28 appearances for Real and scored once during the 12 months period.
