Published on: 26 June 2016

Germany won 3-0 over Slovakia after a brilliant performance.

The World Champions took the lead after 8 minutes when Jerome Boateng scored with a volley after a wrong clearance by the Slovakian defence.

Five minutes later Mesut Özil missed a penalty, Kozacic saved it.

Two minutes before half time, at 43', Mario Gomez netted the second goal for the Germans, assisted by Julian Draxler.

Julian Draxler scored again for Germany at 63' from a corner with a well deserved goal into the penalty area.

Slovakia tried to get the consolation goal from a free-kick but the shoot went wide.

Germany are through to the quarter-finals after a great game, Slovakia leave the Euros with a poor performance.
