Published on: 26 June 2016

The knock-out game in Euro 2016 between Humgary and Belgium saw Belgium start the game with confidence.

Belgium had a lot of possession and attacked well when going forward.

De Bryne had the first shot of the game when the ball was pulled back on the edge of the box but the Manchester City player hit it over the cross bar.

GOAL! In the 10th minute Belgium scored the first goal of the game. De Bryne involved again. He crossed the ball from a free-kick, Alderweireld got a free header and easily slotted it past the helpless keeper.

Belgium controlled the first half for the most part with some good interchanging passing and threatening in the final third of the pitch.

De Bryne pulling the strings for the side and Lukaku holding the ball up well.

Hungary did play some good passes. At times they worked the ball well and made some half decent opportunities to shoot. Most went wide or over the bar, leaving Courtois not too much to do.

The 42nd minute and Mertens should have scored for Belgium. Hungary split wide open at the back and the ball fell to the right-back who hit the ball very well towards goal but the keeper was equal to it and parried the ball away from the danger area.

The first half came to a close and Belgium went in at the break leading 1-0.

Hungary 0 - 1 Belgium
