Ghanaian attacker Samuel Afum is expected make his bow in the prestigious Uefa Europa League on Thursday evening as he is likely to be in action for Swiss side BSC Young Boys who take on Cypriot minnows. 

The Yellow and Blacks make a return to Europe after three seasons and will attempt to progress beyond the third round qualifiers. But the would mean victory Cypriot top-tier side Ermis FC.

The former Black Meteors attacker is likely to walk into Uli Forte's starting line-up at the STADE DE SUISSE Wankdorf Bern due to his scoring form in the early stages of the Swiss Super League season.

Japanese forward Yuya Kubo who gets the nod to start in a 4-2-3-1 formation in domestic games has scored twice in Boys' two opening games of the season while Afum has scored once in two substitute appearances.

However, Afum's pace and aggression in attack would provide an extra bite and Forte is likely to field both is two sharpest front-men and the former Ghana Premier League Golden Shoe Winner is set for a start.

Afum arrived at Bern three seasons from Egyptian side FC Smouha and has netted 8 league goals in 41 games.

In other games Sulley Muntari's young brother Sulley Muniru is in the CFR Cluj squad who are in Belarus to play giants Dinamo Minsk at the Borisov Arena in a first-leg tie.

At the Stadionul Marin Anastasovici in Giurgiu, four Ghanaians are expected in action in Romania. While midfielder Isaac Sackey and Kevin Luckassen have travelled with the Slovan Liberec side to Romania, they will be welcome by former Ghana U17 striker Sadat Bukari and midfielder Yahaya Seidu.

With striker Kwame Karikari returning from loan to join the AIK squad, he will complete a Ghanaia quartet for the Solna-based side who are in far away Kazakhstan to play Astana. Former Ghana U20 pair of Ebenezer Ofori and Ibrahim Moro are the others in the AIK squad. Young Swedish-born Edward Owusu has been left at home.
