Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Derrick Luckassen scored the solitary goal to propel Dutch side AZ Alkmaar to a 1-0 win over PAS Giannina in the Uefa Europa League on Thursday evening.
The 21-year-old ambidextrous defender won the game for the Eredivisie side with a great finish in the 36th minute.
Luckassen rose above everybody in the area and the visitors defenders could only stand and admire the confidence with which he rose to head home Stijn Wuytens's corner kick.
The narrow first round win means Luckassen must help his Alkmaar side to secure passage through the next round of the competition.
