Villareal managed to get ahead of Liverpool for a 1-0 in the first leg of their UEFA Europea League Semi-final clash. Towards the end of the first half it looked like Villareal could pull ahead however an extremely professional and efficient display by the visitors in the second half made that look unlikely. Liverpool looked like they were going to beat the Spanish side for much of the second 45.
Villarreal played well i nthe first half, especially towards the 45th minute howver they were disappointing in the second half. Despite this their only goal was cored at the end of the game - a last minute counter attack saw substitute Adrian Lopez pull the home side ahead in the 92' minute.
Liverpool fans will be disappointed that the better team lost
