Everton enter race to sign Sulley Muntari - reports

English side Everton are interested in taking Sulley Muntari back to England, according to press reports in the country.

The Ghanaian international left Portsmouth for Internazionale in 2008 for a fee of around £14million, but he is struggling to establish himself in Serie A.

Muntari has made just twelve appearances in all competitions for the reigning European champions this season, and he has asked to leave during the winter window.

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has made no secret of his desire to land the 26-year-old midfield player, but it is believed he faces stiff competition from Goodison Park.

David Moyes is resigned to losing Steven Pienaar before the end of the month, and the Toffees boss has reportedly asked the Nerazzurri about the loan availability of Muntari.
