Everton forward Lukaku ignoring rivalry with Tottenham counterpart Kane

Published on: 02 March 2017

Romelu Lukaku has played down the importance of his Golden Boot duel with Harry Kane ahead of Everton's trip to Tottenham this weekend, reports the London Evening Standard.

Much of the pre-match build up has surrounded Kane and Lukaku, who are level on 17 goals at the top of the scoring charts.

The duo are set to battle it out for the Golden Boot during the run-in - along with Alexis Sanchez, Diego Costa and Zlatan Ibrahimovic - but Lukaku is determined to focus on himself rather than the exploits of others.

"For me it's just Tottenham v Everton," Lukaku told the club's official website.

"I don't like to look at what other players are doing. That's what cost me the Golden Boot last year so for me it's just a game I want to win.

"It's about winning games and scoring as many goals as possible," he added.
