EVERTON interested in goalkeeper Bentley

Published on: 29 March 2016

Everton are ready to join a host of clubs with an interest in signing League 2 side Southend's goalkeeper David Bentley this summer.

A number of Premier League clubs including Bournemouth, Norwich City, Watford and West Bromwich Albion are all monitoring the 22-year-old's situation, with the player set to be out of contract this summer. Everton look set to join this list after the 6ft 4inch shot stopper has impressed for Southend, keeping 12 clean sheets so far this campaign.

Bentley was also the subject of a £1.25m bid by championship side QPR last summer, although this was rejected by Southend chairman Ron Martin.
