Ex-Ghana striker Augustine Arhinful puts the Black Stars trophy-drought since 1982 down to bad luck.

The former AshantiGold and Boavista player feels other factors aside quality and commitment have rocked Ghana's boat.

Ghana have lost three Africa Cup of Nations finals since winning a then record fifth title 36 years ago in Libya.

''Between you and I it’s only God who knows what will happen tomorrow. For me here I don’t know,'' Arhinful said.

''After 35 years, what we are supposed to do to be able to clinch diadem, have we done it? It could also be that we have not prepared enough to win the cup.

''Maybe it's not our time because there’s luck in sports.

''I believe when it’s our time to win it, nothing can stop us. In 2015, we were in the finals but lost on penalties.

''I believe in destiny though 36-years is a very long time, it could be that the next AFCON is for us.''
