Sammy Kuffuor greets Asantehene

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, will officially thank the outgoing management and board of Kumasi Asante Kotoko at convocation at the Manhyia Palace on Friday.

Otumfuo is also expected to officially communicate to the outgoing team about the takeover of the club by former Black Stars international, Samuel Osei Kuffour.

Both the Kotoko management and Manhyia sources have confirmed Friday’s farewell meeting in Kumasi to the Daily Graphic.

Between now and Friday, the Samuel Opoku Nti-led administration has been instructed to pay all outstanding bills, including the players’ two months outstanding salaries, to “clean the books” before the meeting.

Otumfuo last Saturday appointed Kuffour as the club’s new Executive Board Chairman and he has been tasked to restructure the club and form his own team at both management and board levels.

The former Bayern Munich star is also to scout for well-placed indigenous human resources, as well as football experts wherever to turn the fortunes of the club around.

He is expected to report back to Manhyia after naming his team for the Asantehene’s approbation.
