Algeria will top Ghana's group says Domench

Ex-France coach Raymond Domenech says Algeria will top Ghana's group at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations insisting that the Desert Foxes are the best in the Group of Death.

The Black Stars have been drawn in the Group of Death to face Algeria, Senegal and South Africa at the tournament in Equatorial Guinea next month.

Domenech says even though Group C is the toughest at the tournament, he has tipped Algeria to have it easy against all their three group opponents.

“It's a very difficult group. I think that there are very strong teams in this group,” Domenech said.

“But I think this group is going to be difficult for the other three teams and not for Algeria. I think this group should scare the others.

“You know that the Algerian team had an outstanding World Cup campaign with a round of 16 finish after a fine performance against Germany – developments which should be added to the achievements during the Afcon playoffs. These make the Fennecs potential favourites of the group.”

The tournament will start on 17 January.
