Ex-Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah will earn a US$ 15,000 monthly salary as new head coach of Sudanese side Al Khartoum SC, the Ghana News Agency has reported.

The 2014 FIFA World Cup coach finalized his move on Wednesday afternoon after agreeing a two-year deal to lead the capital club.

Appiah has been tasked to end the duopoly of giants Al Merreikh and Al Hilal.

“Kwesi Appiah has signed a two-year contract with Al Khartoum and was unveiled today. He will be earning 15,000 dollars a month. He is loved here and hopefully we have will have a successful time together,” a club source is quoted by the Ghana News Agency.

Appiah, 54, will lead the club in the 2015 CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers after the military-owned team finished fourth last season.

He will be assisted by compatriot Prince Owusu.
