Ex Ghana defender Joe Addo believes Abdul Majeed Waris will be Ghana’s biggest revelation at the 2014 World Cup.

The 22-year-old has been one of the most consistent players in the Black Stars set up during the World Cup qualifiers.

The Right to Dream Academy graduate has formed a formidable partnership with Ghana’s leading striker Asamoah Gyan.

Egypt coach Bob Bradley attested to the deadly partnership after a 6-1 thrashing in the first leg of the World Cup playoffs in Kumasi.

Many are expecting a continuation of the effective striking partnership at the World Cup where the Black Stars will be facing Germany, Portugal and the USA in the group stage.

And former Black Stars defender Joe Addo is backing the Spartak Moscow forward to go on to surprise many at the World Cup.

“Waris is our talisman, that boy has surprised many and I think he will surprise again at the World Cup because people don’t know him,” he told Power FM.

“He was dropped for the Nations Cup and I think that was a mistake.

“He is very small but can run tackle, he chases everything.

“He will be our talisman at the World Cup.”

Waris is currently on loan at French club Valenciennes where he has scored two goals in five Ligue 1 outings.
