Avram Grant

Former Ghana Football Association chairman Dr Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe says Black Stars coach Avram is just occupying space and should be fired.

Dr Tamakloe argues that the former Chelsea manager has failed to improve the stock of the national team and not "teaching the players anything."

Grant was appointed in November 2014 but managed to guide the Black Stars to the finals of the Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea last year.

His team missed the trophy by a whisker after losing on penalties to Ivory Coast in the final.

But Dr Dr Tamakloe is unimpressed and wants the Israeli out.

"I am not happy particularly with the national team. The way the national team is picked and the coach handling the national team I am not comforatble with him," the firebrand administrator told Asempa FM.

“You see, coaches are employed so that they impart what they have on the players but here we have a coach who hardly stays in the country and when we have a match he will pick boys from certain areas put them together and go and play. He is not teaching them anything.”

"The first time that we had a coach who really taught our boys was we were able to qualify for the World Cup in 2006 under Djokovic.

"So me, this coach we have who does not like staying in the country, If I happened to be the Minister responsible for Sports I would have kicked him out long ago."

Grant managed to qualify Ghana to the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations with one match to spare- final match against Rwanda will be played on 04 September.
