Former Ghana goalkeeper Abubakar Damba has expressed satisfaction that goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey has been named in Ghana’s squad to play Mozambique later this month.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper is making a return to the team for the first time in two years after storming out of Ghana’s camp in Brazil.

The Norway born Ghana international is regarded by many as the best man to guide post for the Stars and his return is expected to heighten competition in the team.

Abubakar Damba who has never hidden his desire to have Kwarasey back says he is delighted the Portland Timbers man is back in the team.

“I am really delighted because he is very good goalkeeper and he has proven that he is capable,” Damba told Citi FM

‘”Every Ghanaian wants the best for the nation and Kwarasey’s return means opportunities is given to every Ghanaian.”

"There were challenges but i am very certain that the technical team has done a great job in getting him back."

The Norway-born shot stopper announced his premature retirement after the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals in Brazil where he launched a broadside at goalkeepers’ trainer Nassam Yakubu.
