Ex-Black Stars and Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, Ali Jarrah has revealed that Accra Hearts of Oak have scrapped his name off their pay-roll citing him as a liability to the club.

Ali Jarrah, who got paralyzed while playing for the national team at age 17, also disclosed that Hearts of Oak blocked his move to FC Koln in Germany.

“It is painful that the people you kill yourself for don’t leave you to your fate when it matters most. When I was at the prime of my career, I got a deal to join FC Koln but Hearts blocked the move. Hearts of Oak used to pay me a monthly allowance of GHc 300 but they scrapped my name from their pay-roll about 5 years ago. How will you feel when you are told that you are no longer on the pay-roll because you are a liability to the club?” Ali Jarrah told Happy FM.

He added that his worry is not all about money but the pain and rejection he has had to endure for the last 23 years since he got paralyzed.

“My issue is not about money entirely. If you know the pain I go through every day, you will feel for me. When I enter my room after the day’s work, I become a prisoner. When you have a child who has been paralyzed for 23 years, how can he better his life? I go through a lot which I can’t disclose to you on air.”

Ali Jarrah, a gold medallist and twice winner of silver at junior football world cups, was throwing more light on an emotional statement he put out on his Facebook wall revealing that he was dying slowly.
