AshantiGold striker Nana Poku will travel next week to hold talks with FC Porto over a possible move, GHANAsoccernet.com is reliably informed.

The 19-year-old will be in action for the Miners in the FA Cup final against New Edubiase on Sunday before setting off for Portugal.

Poku rose to prominence when he emerged the top goalscorer of the Ghanaian top flight in the 2010/11 season with sixteen goals.

A move to Egyptian club El Etthad El Scandry after winning the Golden Boot however proved abortive as the club failed to honour it’s contractual obligations.

Poku thus returned to Ghana where he eventually joined AshantiGold in a move to resurrect his then ailing club fortunes.

The former Berekum Arsenals striker has surprisingly emerged an interesting transfer prospect for the Portuguese champions despite ongoing talks with Israeli club Beer Sheva.

He will leave Accra sometime next week after playing in the MTN FA Cup final against Edubiase on Sunday.
