Former Ghana skipper and fans favorite at German side Wolfsburg C.K Akunnor says he is working on convincing his former employers to set up a football academy in Ghana.

Akunnor who was last month was in Mexico to help Wolfsburg set up a similar facility which is aimed at helping unearth talent across the globe says he is currently working on bringing such a project to Ghana.

“One of the things I picked up with my time in Mexico was that we need to help young ones who have the potential to do well,” Akunnor told Citi FM

“The projects are meant for only Mexico and China but once I am on board I am trying to use my influence to let them see how beneficial it would be to both parties if we have one in Ghana.”

“I know it won’t be easy but I am doing all I can to let them buy the idea.”
