Former Ghana sports minister Enoch Teye Mensah insists he has no regrets for sacking Italian coach Giuseppe Dossena 15-years ago.

The 57-year-old guided the Black Satellites to clinch the Africa Under-20 title in 1999 and led the team to a quarter-final berth at the global showpiece in Nigeria the same year.

But he was sacked in 2000 after he failed to qualify the Black Stars to the Olympic Games in 2000.

Dossena was quite popular during his stay in Ghana amid claims he clashed with then former minister E.T Mensah.

'Not at all (I have no regrets). He wasn’t doing well and he knows it. All over the world, when you hire a coach and the coach is not doing well, what do you do? His contract ended and it wasn’t renewed. I was looking at his performance'. former minister E.T Mensah told Accra-based Starr FM

The Italian went on to coach Albania and Saudi side Ittihad Jeddah.
