Ex-Ghana captain CK Akunnor has backed Chelsea new signing Baba Rahman to take the English Premier League by storm.

The 21-year-old completed a dream move to the English champions last Sunday in a deal worth £21.1million.

He becomes the second Ghanaian player to play for the Blues following the exploits of international teammates Michael Essien.

The youngster has been hailed for his rapid development and former Black Stars captain CK Akunnor expects the former Augsburg star to light up the Premier League.

“He will play. He is a smart and intelligent young lad. Trust me he will excel at Chelsea,” he told Accra-based Asempa FM

“If you know that boy, you will appreciate what I’m telling you. Look at his pace of his development.

“I have no doubt in my mind that he will be a big hit for the club and big signing.”

Rahman could mark his debut for the champions as they play as guest of West Brom on Sunday.
