Ex-Ghana midfielder Laryea Kingston has ruled himself out of playing in the local league.

Kingston, 35, endured a difficult return to his boyhood club Hearts where he suffered suspension, leading to his exit.

The former Ghana interational was long linked with a move to relegated Great Olympics but the deal never materialized.

Kingston’s compatriot Godwin Attram, Richard Kingson and Dan Quaye returned to boost the local league this season but the former Heart of Midthlothian enforcer says he’s done playing for a local club.

"I am not thinking of coming back to play in the local league at the moment," he told Joy FM.

"Talking of Godwin Attram, Dan Quaye and Richard Kingston,  I give them so much respect because it is not easy going up there to Europe and then you come down here to play.

"The facilities over there in Europe and then when you come down you don't have the same or something even close to that; and the way the management of the teams manage their clubs and the players,  the difference is so clear that it is always difficult for players who move to Europe and come down here; they will always have problems.

"I give them that respect that they maintained their status and played throughout the season."

The journey-man has played for several clubs abroad including Â Maccabi Ahi Nazareth, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Krylia Sovetov Samara, Terek Grozny, Lokomotiv Moscow, Heart of Midlothian, Vitesse and Hapoel Be'er Sheva.
