Tony Yeboah has been invited to return the Leeds for an event

He's coming home, he's coming home, Yeboah's coming home... Leeds United hero Tony Yeboah is heading back to Elland Road for an audience with' style event taking place on Saturday, November 14, it has been announced.

The 1,000-capacity evening at the ground's Centenary Pavilion will feature an on-stage interview with the Ghanaian star as well as big-screen clips of some of his famous goals for the Whites.

There will also be a four-course meal - and organisers have made sure the menu will include Yeboah's beloved Yorkshire puddings.

Mick Speight, managing director at MJK Sports Events, told the Yorkshire Evening Post: "When we began planning the evening we knew from the start that we'd have to serve up some Yorkshires!

"I spoke to Tony on Tuesday and he is really looking forward to coming back to Leeds.

"He's coming over from Ghana especially for the event but he's asked for the return flight date to be kept open, so it looks like he's intending to make the most of it.

"The interest we've had from fans has been terrific. We've only really done a soft marketing launch on social media so far but we could be sold out of VIP packages by the end of this week."

Yeboah, now aged 49 and running his own hotel business, quickly earned cult status with United's fans after signing for £3.4m from Eintracht Frankfurt at the start of 1995.

He scored 32 times in 66 appearances for the Whites and his long-range strikes against Liverpool and Wimbledon have gone down in club folklore.

The forward also notched a stunning hat-trick in a UEFA Cup game in Monaco.

Yeboah cemented his love affair with Leeds when he revealed he had developed a taste for Yorkshire puddings, which prompted one enterprising local firm to announce it would give him two of the Tyke delicacies for every goal he grabbed.
