Former Ghana Under-20 captain Lawrence Lartey wants to play for the Black Stars at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

The 22-year-old, who is currently on the books of Ajax Cape Town, has impressed heavily since he joined the South African side.

The ex-Ashantigold centre-back has been a key cog of the Ajax Cape Town squad and feels he's done enough to merit a national team call-up.

"There is time for everything so i hope my performance will be able to attract a national team call up". Lartey told Starr FM.

Ghana are among the favourites for the tournament as the four-time champions have been tipped by betting football fans to win the competition in Gabon in January.
