Ex-Hearts defender Mireku backs Duncan to turn Hearts fortunes around

Posted On Tuesday, 8th January 2013

David Duncan is confident he can turn things around for Hearts

By Patrick Akoto

Ex-Hearts of Oak great Yaw Amankwah Mireku insists David Duncan is the right man for the job.

The former Ashantigold trainer has failed to produce the magic to turn around the downward spiral of the team since he took over from CK Akunnor.

He has recorded a single win, lost three times and drawn five in his nine games in charge so far.

Duncan has insisted he’s the best man to turn things around for the phobians despite their unflattering campaign so far which sees them locked up in the relegation trap-net.

Mireku, who enjoyed a terrific ten-year spell at the capital-based side has no doubts the former Free State Stars trainer is the right man for the Hearts job.

“I believe and insists that Duncan is the right coach for Hearts,” Mireku told Radio XYZ

“He came in at a time that the team was playing poorly.

“I cant’ say that has changed because the team’s position on the table does not support that argument.

“But he needs time to turn things around. I have absolute trust and confidence in him to make Hearts giants again.”

Duncan has been busy in the transfer-market looking for players to augment his squad ahead of the second round of the Ghana Premier League.
