Former Hearts of Oak management member Farouk Al Wahab has revealed that his father denied paying his fees because he (Al Wahab) was a Hearts fan.

According to Al Wahab, he was a ball boy for Kotoko at the then Kumasi Sports Stadium but loved Hearts of Oak even as a young boy.

He added that during Hearts’ 4-3 win over Kotoko at the Kumasi Sports Stadium in 1983, his father denied paying his school fees for a term because he jubilated when Kotoko lost.

“In 1983 when Hearts won 4-3 over Kotoko in Kumasi, I returned home from the stadium as a ball boy jubilating,” he told Moontie FM.

“I never knew my dad was a Kotoko fan until that day.

“He never said anything to me until the next day when I was leaving for school. I went to him for my fees and he told me to go to Hearts for my fees and truly he never paid,” he added.

Al Wahab was the International Relations Officer of Hearts of Oak from 2005 to 2009.
