Former Hearts of Oak and Heart of Lions coach Yussif Abubakar is set to be appointed head coach of Nigerian Premier League side FC Ifeanyi Ubah after holding talks with the club, according to reports.

The Anambrah state-based club want the Ghanaian tactician to take charge of the club after following his exploits in Ghana.

Abubakar arrived in Nigeria on Tuesday and is continuing discussions with the club.

The news becomes a major blow for Ghanaian promotion hopefuls Techiman City FC who had opened talks with the coach.

Ifeanyi will offer Abubakar a two-year-contract if talks go as positive for both sides.

Yusif is here with us to hold talks toward becoming our new head coach,” an FC Ifeanyi Ubah official disclosed to Ghanaian outlet Sports Crusader.

“We think he has the qualities to take our club to the next level and that is why the club is making this move for him," he added.
