Former Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry has revealed that Liverpool did not want to spend their budget on a full back so opted out of the deal to bring Dani Alves to Anfield in the summer of 2006. Rafa Benitez was keen to sign the full-back in 2006 back when he was playing for Sevilla.
