AIK have refused to release midfielder Ebenezer Ofori to the Ghana U20 team for the FIFA World Cup, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 19-year-old was one of thirteen players named as the provisional squad of the Black Satellites.

Ofori was expected to join the team in their external camp in New Zealand and Australia ahead of the naming of the final squad on Wednesday.

But Ofori has been unable to join the team due to his heavy schedule at his club.

The former New Edubiase player has played seven out of the eight games for his Swedish club so far this season.

He has emerged as an integral player for the side and will now not be released for the World Cup.

Coach Sellas Tetteh will now have to make do without the versatile midfielder as he will not be available for the World Cup which commences at the end of the month.
