Late invitee Baba Mensah has vowed to impress Black Stars head coach Avram Grant if handed game time in Tuesday’s friendly international against Congo.

The centre-back is one of five players with the Black Meteors team preparing for the 2015 All Africa Games who have earned late call-ups to join the senior national team to face Congo in a commemoration match.

Speaking to GHANASoccernet.com, the Inter Allies defender said: “This is a great opportunity for me and I will prove it if I am given the chance to play.

“Every player wants to play and stay in the Black Stars and I am not different. Even though my call up came as an accident I have to use the opportunity well by impressing the coach if I am giving the chance to play today’s game.”

The Black Stars will play the Red Devils as part of the programme to open the new Kintèle Stadium upon the invitation of the country’s president His Excellency Denis Sassou N’guesso.
