Top notch Portuguese trainer Manuel Coelho Zacarias has arrived in Accra ahead of his announcement as new head coach of Bechem United, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively confirm.

The 48-year-old arrived in Accra on Saturday night and will head straight to Techiman to watch United in action against Techiman City in the highly anticipated regional derby.

Bechem had been on the market looking for a permanent manager following the departure of Kwame Opuni on health grounds.

And, the Brong Ahafo regional-based side have contracted the former FC Porto chief scout through Ultimate Goal Management who also introduced Kenichi Yatsuhashi to Hearts of Oak.

"Zacarias is one of the best up and coming coaches and has packs of energy and brains to work on the job which makes very optimistic of his success at Bechem. He will fly to Sunyani en route to Techiman to watch Bechem against TCFC on Sunday," he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

Zacarias has coaching experience from Bahrain where succeeded with a top-flight side but had scouted for FC Porto and acted as assisted manager at Nacional in Portugal.

He also managed Braga's second string side in the Portuguese second-tier league.

His experience on the African continent includes managing Guinean side CI Kamsar.

He becomes the fifth expatriate coach on the local front this season after WAFA's John Killa, Medeama manager Tom Strand, Aduana Stars head coach Cioaba Aristica and Hearts of Oak's Kenichi Yatsuhashi.
