Ex-Ghana striker Tony Yeboah is looking at the positives of Ghanaââ¬â¢s deadly 2015 AFCON Group saying it will let the Black Stars prepare well and mount a strong challenge to win the tournament.
The Black Stars were drawn against African heavyweights Senegal, South Africa and Algeria in Group C.
Yeboah, who played in three Africa Cup of Nations finals, believes drawing tough opponents could be a blessing in disguise.
"The Black Stars know they are in a tough group so I am sure that they will prepare well to give a good account of themselves after all there are no minors in African football now,â⬠the former Frankfurt and Leeds striker exclusively told GHANASoccernet.com
Ghana will open their Group C campaign against Senegal on 19 January in Mongomo before engaging South Africa and Algeria.
The Black Stars last won the Nations Cup in 1982 but were losing finalists at the 1992 and 2010 editions in Senegal and Angola respectively.
New coach Avram Grant will lead the team and faces a herculean task to raise a team with less than six weeks to the tournament.
