EXCLUSIVE: Ex-Kotoko star Ofosu Appiah approached by Latvia to switch nationality
Ofosu Appiah

In-form Ghanaian defender Ofosu Appiah is being courted to declare his international allegiance to Latvia, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 23-year-old, who plays for top-flight side Skonto FC,  has been the most talked about foreign player in  Latvia.

The former Asante Kotoko has churned out impressive displays for the side which has caught the eye of the Latvian federation who have approached him to switch allegiance, Ghana’s leading football outlet can reveal.

At just 23, Appiah lacks very little as he has improved tremendously since he left South African side Jomo Cosmos last year.

He has balance, confidence and very strong in the air and has shown enough strength and ability that he can mix it up with the boys in the big leagues if he gets the chance.

The Latvian FA are hoping to entice him with a mouth-watering offer to prize him away from Ghana as he continues to improve week-in-week-out.

GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal that Appiah will make a firm decision in the coming weeks as he is eligible to play for them since he has not represented Ghana at any competitive level.

He has emerged as a target for a number of  unnamed clubs in Europe but  Skonto FC  are reluctant to release him due to his colossus talent.
