EXCLUSIVE: Galatasaray closing in on Ghana midfielder Bernard Mensah

Published on: 11 August 2020

Turkish giants Galatasaray are close to signing Ghana midfielder Bernard Mensah from fellow top-flight side Kayserispor, Ghanasoccernet.com can exclusively report.

Mensah's contract with the Turkish club will expire in 2022 but the player wants to leave the club this summer.

And Galatasaray have beaten off strong competition from Besiktas after reaching an agreement with Kayserispor.

Galatasaray have agreed to pay Kayserispor's asking price of 3.6 million euros to sign the player.

Mensah was in great form in the just-ended campaign, scoring five goals and provided eight assists in his 23 league appearances.

The 25-year-old initially joined the Turkish side on loan from Atletico Madrid for 2018/19 season.

He played a total of 28 games and scored four goals. Kayserispor redeemed Mensah's buying option in May 2019.
