The Ghana FA has received bids from at least two corporate entities who are interested in sponsoring the Ghana Premier League, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively confirm.
The Ghanaian top flight has been without a headline sponsor following the expiration of a five-year agreement with telecommunication giants Globacom.
The Ghana FAââ¬â¢s Executive Committee have held initial deliberations over a bid tabled by an unknown firm.
Several others have also put in bids but two stand tall according to checks done by Ghanaââ¬â¢s leading football website.
ââ¬ÅThere are several of them [bids],â⬠Acting General Secretary of the Ghana FA Emmanuel Gyimah told GHANAsoccernet.com.
ââ¬ÅSome are however not conclusive with some grey areas that needs to be addressed.
ââ¬ÅThere are currently several discussions ongoing and we hope to finalize them soon.ââ¬
Ghanaian clubs meanwhile are moaning over lack of resources to sustain their teams throughout the Premier League campaign.
Previous headline sponsors Glo have still been unable to pay up outstanding sponsorship monies owed the Ghana FA.
The GFA is however desperate to secure a new sponsor to help alleviate the plight of competing clubs in the Ghanaian top flight.
ââ¬ÅIf we can finalize on one before the start of the second half of the season that will be great,â⬠Gyimah adds.
ââ¬ÅAny time soon will be very helpful so that the clubs can get some money to run operations.ââ¬
