Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has returned to training with his Italian side Juventus after recovering from a knee injury that has kept him out of action for three weeks, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 25-year-old trained with the club for the first time since the injury on Sunday night as they prepared for their Champions League clash against Swedish side Malmo.

Injury returnees Asamoah, Angelo Ogbonna and Luca Marrone were asked to focus on their individual regimes while the remainder of the group worked on moving the ball around with pace.

It is however unlikely that the Ghana international would play in the match against Malmo as he is only just recovering from the injury.

The Italian champions put the Ghanaian international under observation by monitoring his progress in the treatment room.

“He has been asked to rest for 15 days as a precautionary measure. We’re reviewing the situation and wait after the international break,” a club’s statement read earlier this month.

Asamoah was expected to return to action on Saturday for the game against Lazio but was delayed because of the slow recovery process.

He travelled to the Spanish city of Barcelona for further treatment under one of the world’s leading specialists on knee injuries.

The Juventus star went to Barcelona to seek swift recovery from the injury he suffered.

Professor Ramon Cugat, a specialist who has already attended to other Juventus players in the past, observed the Ghanaian player and asked him to delay his return until he is fully fit.

He has assured the Ghanaian that he will be able to make a full recovery by the end of this month with no complications.

Kwadwo Asamoah missed Ghana final two 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers last week because of the injury.
