Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Abu has signed a four-year-contract with Norwegian champions Stromsgodset, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively confirm.

The 22-year-old returns to the Drammen-based side on a permanent basis after he was released by English giants Manchester City.

Abu, who played at the 2012 AFCON with Ghana, has had two separate spells at Stromsgodset and helped them to left the Norwegian Cup in 2011 which qualified the club to play in the Uefa Europa League for the first time.

The former Right to Dream Academy graduate flourished on loan with French side Lorient last season but he struggled to make the grades with Danish side AGF.

He has also had unsuccessful spells with German side Eintracht Frankfurt and Spanish side Rayo Vallecano.
