EXCLUSIVE: Ghana snub Boakye Yiadom for Nations Cup qualifier against Mauritius

Atalanta striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom has been overlooked for Ghana's 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritius, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 22-year-old will not be invited for the game in Accra despite impressing in the country's international friendly games against Senegal and Mali back in March.

He earned a late call-up into the team as a replacement for Abdul Baba Rahman and scored the consolation in the team's 2-1 defeat to Senegal.

He also provided an assist as the Black Stars drew 1-1 against Mali during the two international friendly games.

Yiadom has paid the price for his inconsistent form at Atalanta where he made only 19 appearances and scored three times.

GHANAsoccernet.com sources at the Italian club has confirmed the striker has not received invitation for the game which will be played on June 14 at the Accra sports stadium.

Coach Avram Grant has opted for captain Asamoah Gyan, Jordan Ayew and David Accam as his strikers for the game.
