Spanish side Real Valladolid have moved to take Ghana international Quincy Owusu-Abeyie on trial, with a view to offering the winger a deal until the end of the season, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 27-year-old is currently unattached after leaving Greek side Panathinaikos due to lack of playing time this season.

He scored 4 goals in 25 League matches in the Greek Super League but struggled to make any real impact the following season with just 13 appearances, followed by none this season.

The Ghanaian international has been offered the chance to move back to the La Liga with Real Valladolid, should he impress during a trial period next week, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

The journey man looks destined to be back for a third spell in Spanish football, providing he can sufficiently impress manager Juan Ignacio Martínez during a trial period at the cash strapped club.

The Dutch-born player spent his formative years at the youth system of Ajax before moving to English side Arsenal to begin his professional career, where he featured in 23 games and scored twice.

Abeyie is keen for regular playing time to enhance his chances of gatecrashing Ghana’s squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

The former Spartak Moscow man has played for many clubs in Europe including Celta Vigo,  Birmingham City, Cardiff City, Málaga and Panathinaikos.
