GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively report that Ghanaian striker Yakubu Mohammed has sealed a two-year deal with Tunisian Ligue 1 side AS Djerba.

He penned the deal on Tuesday after completing a rigorous medical in Houmet Es’ Souk.

The 24-year-old signed for the newly promoted on a free transfer after terminating his contract with South African Premier Soccer League side Maritzburg United.

Mohammed made 13 appearances and scored one goal but reached a deal with the Team of Choice to terminate his contract.

Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak had all shown interest in signing the bulky forward this transfer window.

ASD are at the foot of the Tunisian Ligue 1 table after six rounds of matches with two points.
