EXCLUSIVE: Ghana's revenge friendly against USA in September fails to materialise
Ghana players are seeking to face the USA again

Ghana's proposed match against the United States in a grudge friendly to be played in New York failed to materialise as no agreement was reached, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

The Black Stars were keen to play the American male national team in a friendly in September but negotiations failed to produce any results.

There is a FIFA international friendly match date in September and it is understood the two sides were keen on exploring that option to play the grudge match

The two teams are seeking to settle their recent rivalry in football with the match which was being planned for New York but insiders say it failed to reach an agreement.

The United States have opted to play Peru instead of Ghana after negotiations fell through.

"Peru was third choice for #usmnt friendly at RFK. Ghana & Uruguay talks didn't work out. Still a quality matchup: Peru 3rd at Copa America," Steven Goff one of leading American soccer reporters said.

Ghana are seeking a revenge over the United States following the 2-1 defeat they suffered at the hands of the Americans at the 2014 World Cup.

The Americans are also keen on equalling the victories record with Ghana as the Black Stars have beaten their opponents twice in their three meetings.

Ghana defeated America at the 2006 and 2010 World Cups.
