Aduana Stars are inching closer to striking a deal with an Iranian club for the sale of Ghana goalkeeper Stephen Adams, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The former Ghana Premier League champions are working through an intermediary to secure the move for the 29-year-old who was part of Ghana’s squad for the 2014 World Cup.

Adams looks to cash in on his impressive performance for Ghana during the CHAN tournament staged earlier this year in South Africa.

His consistent displays earned him a call up into the Black Stars for the 2014 World Cup even though he didn’t feature in the tournament hosted by Brazil.

“We have had initial discussions with the [Iranian] club through an agent and yes, a deal is on the cards for Stephen Adams,” Aduana Chief Executive Officer Albert Commey confirmed to GHANAsoccernet.com.

“The deal is not yet done, there are still some processing to be done so we can regard this transaction for now as pending.”

Adams has been with Aduana for the past four seasons and believes he has paid his dues to the club and is now ready to make a move oversees.

He helped the side win the Premier League title in 2010 which saw him make his debut in the CAF Champions League.

Adams was part of the Ghana squad that finished runners up to Libya at the 2014 CHAN tournament.
