Lorient striker Abdul Majeed Waris has received a call up for the Ghana's friendly match against Canada, GHANAsoccernet .com can exclusively reveal.
The 23-year old is being invited as a backup for captain Asamoah Gyan who is battling a hamstring injury ahead of the clash to be played in Washington on October 13.
Waris has hit top form recently after returning from a wrist injury which ruled him out for three weeks of action for the French Ligue 1 side.
The former Trapzonspor strikerââ¬â¢s outstanding performance for the French side has seen him scoring three goals in five matches helping them to 10th on the table after eight matches.
Waris magnificent performance was given a boost after he guided Lorient to their first Ligue one win after four matches.
The in-form striker has been missing in action for the Black Stars due to injuries but has recuperated to pick his form ahead of the teamââ¬â¢s preparation for the 2018 World Cu qualifier which will commence next month.
