Medeama midfielder Malik Akowuah will arrive in Accra today (Monday) to complete his move to Hearts in a sensational merry-go-round transfer battle, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 26-year-old looked set for a move to Aduana Stars, only for Hearts to dig their heels in in a dramatic fashion.

Aduana Stars were hoping to gazump Hearts for the signature of the talented midfielder after tabling an 'unbelievable' offer.

But Hearts have won the battle with a deal expected to be announced this week, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

Akowuah is expected to sign a two-year deal with the club subject to passing a mandatory medical.

Hearts have agreed a fee with Medeama for the signature of the former Ashantigold and Great Olympic highly-rated midfielder with the player agreeing personal terms.

It will be a massive morale-booster signing for the Phobians who have tracked the midfielder for close to three seasons.

Akowuah has been the most influential player in the Medeama squad since he joined from Ashantigold.

He became the club's assistant captain and played a pivotal role in the side's 2016 CAF Confederation Cup campaign, where the Yellow and Mauves reached the group stage for the first time.
